Best Snacks at Disneyland

We all know how amazing Disney snacks can be, and I am here to share some of my favorites. Disney is always coming out with new snacks on the daily, it’s insane. Here’s a list of some classic and some new snack choices for your next visit to the parks.

 

Beef Bao

Location: Tropical Hideaway

When the Tropical Hideaway first opened last year, everyone was crazy about the beef bao’s. I was skeptical since I’m not a fan of beef, but decided to try all 3 bao’s when I went. I got the chicken, vegetable, and beef. To my surprise the beef was the best! It’s super flavorful and delicious. I highly recommend this as a little snack on the go. You can also get a spicy salsa to go with it!

Each bao is $6, and the sauce is an additional cost. You can get the trio (one of each) for a discounted price that also includes the sauce.

 

Dole Whip Float

Location: Tiki Room or Tropical Hideaway

This is a classic that never gets old. This is a soft-serve frozen dessert with a pineapple flavor. The float includes the soft serve on top of pineapple juice. I personally always go for the dole whip float. I absolutely love pineapple and the juice is so refreshing on a hot day. I love taking this into the tiki room and just living my best life.

A normal Dole Whip is $5.70, while the float is $6.50. The Tropical Hideaway also serves swirls with other flavors such as raspberry and orange for no additional charge. I always recommend ordering your dole whips at the tropical hideaway, because there tends to never be a line since no one knows you can order them there.

 

Beignets

Location: Mint Julep Bar

An absolute must every time I go to Disney now. These are donut like treats, coated in a layer of powdered sugar. I have a sweet tooth and these beignets really satisfy that craving every night at the parks. The best thing to do is pick up a bag of these delights and eat them while watching Fantasmic. Magic.

A pack of 3 regular beignets is $5 and a pack of 6 is $8.50. They sometimes offer seasonal flavors for an additional cost. A pack of 3 is $5.50, and a pack of 6 is $9. They also offer a mixed pack (3 seasonal, 3 regular beignets) for $9.

 

Mint Julep

Location: Mint Julep Bar or Cafe Orleans

This is a recent try for me. On my last trip I finally tried this and actually enjoyed it. I do not like minty things that aren’t toothpaste and gum, but I felt the need to try this drink since it’s such a Disney staple. I went to Cafe Orleans and our waitress actually gave me a sample before I ended up ordering a full drink. It’s delicious. Sometimes Disney even comes out with seasonal flavors. I’m going to get the blackberry mint julep on my next trip.

A mint julep costs $4.50.

 

Matterhorn Macaroon

Location: Jolly Holiday

This is more of an underrated treat that no one either knows about or talks about. It is a macaroon in the shape of the Matterhorn mountain and has a frosting on the top. It is super duper sweet. If you don’t like super sweet things, then I’d stay away.

The price of a Matterhorn Macaroon is only $3, a great deal at Disney!

 

Popcorn

Location: Scattered

The salt. I always tell my family that when I die, it’s going to be from an overdose on sodium. I do have my sweet tooth but that doesn’t mean I’m not obsessed with salty food. The Disney fresh popped popcorn is so simple yet so delicious. It’s never a wrong choice. This is a fun snack to grab and walk around ToonTown with.

 

Hot Chocolate

Location: Refreshment Corner

The Disneyland hot chocolate will always have a special place in my heart. It is the most iconic “snack” or drink I remember getting in my childhood. We’d always get churros and stuff, but the hot chocolate was the highlight. Every time I get the hot chocolate now, I literally get thrown back to when I was a child running around the parks. Disney already makes me feel like a kid again, and the hot chocolate just solidifies that feeling for me. No other hot chocolate can compare.

There actually tends to be many restaurant locations that offer this hot chocolate, so check out the menu when you stop to eat somewhere. I always tend to get it at Refreshment Corner, which is located on Mainstreet.

Churro

Location: Scattered

Honestly, not a bad choice. I would personally get beignets over a churro at this point but I won’t complain about this one. I always remember the time of the carrot cake churro, and eating it in line for Haunted Mansion Holiday and literally just having the best day ever. Ya’ll are probably like, “carrot cake? NASTY!” I’m over here like that’s the best churro I’ve ever had in my life and I will NEVER stop talking about it. @Disney, I know I’m the only one who liked it but please bring it back for me.

Garlic twist

Location: In between Castle and Royal Theatre

I literally waited like a year to finally get my hands on this garlic twist. They only sell it at one little stand near the castle and every time I would go, it’d be closed. Fair warning that the hours seem to be limited on this little cart. If you get this, I would recommend also getting the marinara sauce. It’s fine on its own, but I think the sauce would help a lot.
