One of my favorite things to do this time of year is to reflect on the past year and see all of the things I have accomplished. There were really amazing high’s this year that I am so grateful for. It was so hard picking my top three, but here they are.
Top 3 highlights of 2021
First solo trip
Getting to go to Big Bear and Joshua Tree by myself was an incredible experience. I’m honestly still in shock that I did that and I am so proud. It empowered me and showed me that I can do anything I set my mind to. It also felt amazing to be back in the mountains and out exploring again.
Pepperdine Acceptance
I had no idea where to apply for graduate school at first, but Pepperdine quickly became my dream school. I am so happy and grateful to have gotten in and to now work towards my Master’s degree. I’m one step closer to helping people and that’s all I can ask for.
Disney World trip
I went to Disney World back in June for the first time ever with both of my parents and I had the best time of my life. Every day was so much fun and was jam packed with new adventures. We accomplished everything I had hoped for and we had a great time while doing it. I can’t wait to go back…. in 2022.
There were so many things this year that brought me immense joy, like adopting Blaze, going to Horror Nights with my friends, visiting Avenger’s Campus in California Adventure. I graduated undergrad and got amazing grades I worked my ass off for. I stayed at the Grand Californian hotel in November which has been my dream staycation for years. I finally heard Danny Elfman sing live at the Nightmare Before Christmas concert.
This year wasn’t perfect, but it included so many incredible things. I encourage you to recognize the positive things in your life, reflect on them, and express gratitude for them. I am forever grateful for my 2021 and am excited for 2022.
